Beta on TestFlight

RiftSeeker on iPhone

The iPhone app is in beta: same account, same collection and decks as on Android. It installs through TestFlight, Apple’s free app for trying apps before they reach the App Store. Five minutes, no technical skills needed.

Open the link on your iPhone. On a computer it does nothing: send it to your phone first.

What you need

  • An iPhone on iOS 16 or later (Settings → General → About → iOS Version). iPhone only, not iPad.
  • Your Apple ID, the one you already use for the App Store.
  • A RiftSeeker account. If you have one on Android, use the same; otherwise you create it at first launch with Apple, Google or email.
  • About 50 MB of free space.

Install TestFlight

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone and search for TestFlight: blue icon with a propeller, published by Apple.
  2. Tap Get and install it. It is free.
  3. No sign-up needed: the first time it only asks you to accept Apple’s terms.

TestFlight is Apple’s own app and only installs the apps you were invited to test.

Join the beta and install RiftSeeker

  1. On your iPhone, open the beta link (the button at the top of this page). From a computer it does not work: send it to your phone and open it there.
  2. TestFlight opens. Tap Accept, then Install.
  3. Wait for the download. RiftSeeker appears on your Home Screen like any other app, with an orange dot next to its name: that means “beta”.

Got an email invitation from TestFlight instead? Open it on your iPhone, tap View in TestFlight (or Redeem), then Install. If TestFlight says the beta is full or the link has expired, write to support@riftseeker.lol.

First launch

  1. Two system prompts appear: one about ads (personalised or not) and one about tracking (Allow, or Ask App Not to Track). Answer as you prefer: the app works either way.
  2. Sign in with Apple, Google or email and password. Same account as on Android: your collection and decks are already there.
  3. With a new account the app asks for a nickname (3–30 characters: letters, numbers, dot, dash, underscore).
  4. When you open the Radar (Home → Radar), iOS asks for your location: choose “While Using the App” to try it. Other players see an approximate distance, never your exact position.

The beta uses your real data, the same as the Android app: what you do here stays.

What to try

In TestFlight, under RiftSeeker, “What to Test” says what is new in the build you have. Beyond that, use the app as you normally would. If you want a list:

  • Sign in with Apple, Google or email; with a new account, the nickname step
  • Radar: Home → Radar, with location on
  • Collection: add a few cards; on Android, with the same account, you find them there
  • Import your collection from a CSV: Collection → ⋮ menu → Import CSV, pick the file from Files
  • Decks: build one, export the text list
  • Registration sheet: deck → ⋮ menu → Registration Sheet → Create PDF, then Share or Print
  • Close the app and reopen it: still signed in, everything in place

Report a problem

Anything odd counts: a button that does nothing, cut-off text, a long wait, the app closing on its own. Three ways, pick the easiest:

  1. Screenshot: take one inside the app (side button + volume up). iOS offers “Share Beta Feedback”: tap it, write two lines, send. The screenshot goes with it.
  2. From TestFlight: TestFlight → RiftSeeker → Send Beta Feedback.
  3. Email support@riftseeker.lol, with a screenshot if you have one.

If the app closes by itself, TestFlight asks right away whether to send the report: say yes, it reaches us with the technical details. Knowing what you were doing just before helps.

Questions

How do I update?
TestFlight notifies you when a new build is out: TestFlight → RiftSeeker → Update. With automatic updates on in TestFlight, it installs by itself.
Which version do I have?
In TestFlight, under the app name: version and build number, for example 1.5.0 (202609291326). In the app: Settings → About.
How long does the beta last?
Each TestFlight build expires after 90 days; a new one always arrives before that. If the app says the beta has expired, open TestFlight and update.
Do I lose anything when the app reaches the App Store?
No: the account and the data live on the server. When RiftSeeker is on the App Store, install it from there.
And on Android?
The Android app is on Google Play, with the same account.
Can I leave the beta?
Yes: in TestFlight, RiftSeeker → Stop Testing. The app is removed; your account stays.
