Riftbound 2027: Ranked Ladder, Six Regionals and Continentals Open to All

Riot has detailed Riftbound organized play for 2027 in two articles on the official site. Every competitive event will award Ladder Points by placement, and those points set a player's level on a Ranked Ladder of five levels plus a secret sixth, from Aspirant to Platinum. Point values and thresholds are not final yet.

Regionals and Continentals

Six Regionals have dates: Madrid (5-7 February), Philadelphia (12-14 February) and Auckland (5-7 March) for Legacy; Louisville (14-16 May), Dusseldorf (21-23 May) and Lyon (25-27 June) for The Reckoning. They run Friday to Sunday, with seven rounds on Friday and seven on Saturday, and a 5-2 record after Friday to play Saturday. Continentals become open to all players: Dallas (26-28 March), Melbourne (11-13 June), London (13-15 August) and Toronto (10-12 December).

Tokens, Grandmaster and Worlds

Top finishes earn Regional tokens (a free competitor badge) and Continental Day 2 tokens. The top 50 of the annual race get the Grandmaster title and, from 2027, a Worlds invite if not already qualified. The first World Championship Showcase is set for 23-24 January 2027 in Shanghai, with 24 players.

Local play

Summoner Skirmish is being retired. Unused Byes can be redeemed at a 2027 Regional or exchanged one for one for a promo from The Reckoning, until 31 December 2027. Stores get two new programs: the Nexus Cup, for local recognition, and the Challenge Series, the only store event that awards Ladder Points and a Regional token.
