Riftbound launches in South Korea on 18 September, and it launches with a format of its own. Origins hits Korean shelves first, and Korean events will default to Korean Standard: a temporary constructed format whose card pool grows with the Korean release schedule rather than the global one.

Korean Standard starts with Origins alone. It expands to Origins plus Spiritforged when that set reaches Korea in December, and keeps growing until the Korean pool catches up with the global one. Riot expects parity by the start of 2028, which means seven Korean set releases during 2027. The global ban list still applies, and players or stores can opt into global Standard if they prefer.

Cards and events

Korean Origins boosters include a new Overnumber printing of Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox, made for the launch and found alongside the original Overnumber Ahri. Two further promos, Jinx, Demolitionist and Yasuo, Remorseful, come from Korean launch events.

Those events run in Seoul at Gen.G GGX from 18 to 23 September and at Yongsan IPark Dopamine Station from 18 to 30 September, both carrying the full Korean Origins range. Riot also confirmed the T1 Player Bundle for Korea later this year, and a Korean competitive circuit starting in December.
