Riftbound Renames Regionals and Continentals for 2027

Riot has revealed the first 2027 premier events for Riftbound, along with a new name for its competitive circuit.

In an Organized Play update, Riot said Regional Qualifiers will now be called Riftbound Regionals, with three held per set, while the Regional Championships become Riftbound Continentals, one per set and rotating between cities around the world. Unlike this year's Regional Championships, each Continental runs across three days with an open-entry qualifier on day one, so any player can battle into the main event without a prior invite.

The first dates cover the Legacy set season. Riftbound Regional Philadelphia runs February 12 to 14, Riftbound Regional Madrid February 26 to 28, and the first Riftbound Continental lands in Dallas from March 26 to 28, 2027. Riot added that another Regional is coming to the Oceania region during the Legacy season once details are locked. The company said the full picture of Organized Play is not ready yet, with a deeper dive on the rest of the changes promised in the coming months.
